Abstract

Program is for the play by Federico García Lorca. The play follows the domineering matriarch Bernarda Alba. After her husband’s death, she forces her five unmarried daughters to mourn him for eight years, sequestered with her on the family estate. This causes tension in the household as the mourning period serves to isolate them. The play ran December 1965 and the program was created by the Whitter College Theatre Department.
