Abstract

Program is for the play based on the novel by Robert Penn Warren. The play follows Willie Stark, a populist Southern politician as he rises to power and is eventually assassinated. The character of Willie Stark was based in part on the real-life story of Huey P. Long, a politician from Louisiana who was assassinated in 1935. The play ran in March 1965 and the program was created by the Whitter College Theatre Department.
