Abstract

Program is for the musical by Tom Jones and Harvey Schmidt. The musical follows Cockian the clown who is faced with a death sentence, but is given a chance at life if he impersonates Philemon, the executed Christian leader, to aid the Roman Empire. Cockian is torn between saving his own life and the countless lives of others in Ancient Rome. The musical was directed by Robert M. Treser and ran March 1976. Program was created by the Whittier College Theatre Department.
