Abstract

This photo series depicts the empty Wardman Library during the Covid-19 pandemic which resulted in campus wide closing of buildings. The library was a popular and busy spot for students and faculty to study, collaborate with other students, do research, print and scan documents, and attend speaker events. The library often hosted educational workshops on how to use the databases and how to find resources for classes and research. The empty space is particularly jarring, considering the popularity of the library for Whittier students, and the signage highlights the precautions taken to maintain a safe environment for the Whittier College community.
