Abstract
Mr. Newman, frequently called Chief, was the head football coach when President Nixon attended Whittier College between 1930 and 1934. Prior to his coaching at Whittier College, he taught typing and coached at Covina Union High School. He recalled some of the important aspects he taught as a football coach.
