Abstract

J. Gustav White was the dean of the YMCA Pacific Southwest Summer School for continuation training of YMCA Secretaries. During the time Nixon was a sophomore at Whittier College, White was the dean for YMCA curriculum on campus. He described Quakers as having broad-minded beliefs, and would welcome all people, regardless of their religious beliefs. He recalled that Richard Nixon was very effective in helping to get the appropriation necessary for the enlargement of Rehabilitation Service throughout the country
