Abstract

Upton began work at Whittier College in 1929, and spoke about the relationship between the college and local Quakers. He observed changes in the community over the year, and knew Nixon when he was a student. Upton continued to have contact with Nixon through the years, including collaborating on a project to bring Aubrey Wardman back to the Whittier College Board of Trustees.
