Abstract

This project is an examination and analysis of Tanzanian musical culture and features audio and video from villages such as Bagamoyo, Geita, Sengerema, Mwanza, Bujora, Ligeye, and Kisea. This study includes descriptions of popular instruments, audience response, and song/dance meaning. This project also includes a score titled “Sounds of the Bush” featuring music to be heard through Garage Band.
