Abstract
This project is a short fiction piece set in the South where the author’s intentions were to create realistic and multifaceted characters, taking inspiration from Flannery O’Connor’s Wise Blood and William Faulkner’s The Sound and the Fury. This story also includes inspiration from an article read in 2009 which dealt with the moral obligations of a Brazilian doctor and the scrutiny and criticism he received for his actions towards a patient, which he claimed were in her best interest. This story is a narrative about consequences of character’s decisions.
