Abstract
This paper is about my journey as a marketing intern at Alturas Wildlife sanctuary in Costa Rica, an exotic wildlife rehabilitation animals, and sanctuary to house permanent animal residents where I stayed for thirty days to help come up with ways to push them to market themselves better. While I was there, I conducted interviews with volunteers and other interns that were there for veterinary research to discuss their interest in the sanctuary. I observed and noted a lot of actions that were done on the premise. I studied the sanctuary's mission and watched it in action as they rehabilitated the animals. There I gathered a lot of information where I was able to relate back to texts of Kivi Leroux Miller and more that helped me define what nonprofit marketing truly was. I was also able to compare and contrast three different nonprofits' social media platforms (Facebook) to see how the sanctuary can improve theirs. Here you will learn what it means to market a nonprofit organization.
