Abstract
This project looks into the historical anxieties of 18th century colonial Mexico as they came to grips with the deeply entrenched racial biases that existed within the society with artwork. Casta painting were meant to be like a timeline of how blood purity was able to be integrated in families on a generational basis, creating a caste like system.
