Abstract

This project is a research paper on Bertrand Russell and his contributions to mathematical logic. The paper begins with a history of foundation studies. The author then presents Russell’s work as it is now known as realism and then discusses the opposing view which is the nominalist position as well as the conceptualist position. The author then discusses Russell’s Logicism as well as the problems with Russell’s position. In The benefits of hindsight” section, Hilary Putnam is thoroughly mentioned. The paper includes an appendix as well as a bibliography.
