Abstract
This project begins with with a definition of Pueblo culture surrounding religion, dwellings, and rituals. This research paper highlights Pueblo historical context, it also refutes the discourse surrounding colonial history that suggests that the story of colonization is one in which colonizers dominate while also using Kathleen DuVal’s The Native Ground as a framework for looking at colonial relations in New Mexico. This research explores Pueblo society, cultural expectations, and Francisco Vazquez de Coronado’s journey.
