Abstract

This project is a play that involves the principles about of music, play , and production. The play is based on King Arthur and the knights. The whole experience of my senior project, from the first rough draft of the plot, to the final focusing of the each light, was the most significant learning experience of my college career. Nothing in the classroom can replace actually doing something. Through writing and then mounting the production of The Serpent's Tooth I found I was finally applying the principles, theories and ideas that were a part of the classrooms education. And in so doing I became increasingly aware of what I had learned throughout college. I would listen to music, whether, on the radio or a record of Mozart and figure out what made it good or bad, or why I liked it. In each of the three major aspects of the project; the music, the play, and the production, I found similar experiences and methods of learning. This project comes with the play script and musical score.
