Abstract
Program is for the play by Max Frisch. Set in second century BC, Emperor Hwang Ti is building the Great Wall of China. The Emperor meets historical figures; Don Juan, Romeo and Juliet, Napoleon, Christopher Columbus, Brutus, and Cleopatra in his royal garden where they tell him about collapsing empires and civilizations, world wars and atom bombs. Despite this knowledge, they are unable to prevent evil. The play ran May 1970 and the program was created by the Whittier College Theatre Department.
