Abstract
Program is for the play by Bertolt Brecht. The play follows Shen Te, a kindhearted prostitute who wishes to lead a “good” life. When she is given the opportunity to turn her life around, she purchases a tobacco store but her customers begin to take advantage of her. Shen Te resorts to dressing like a man and adopting the tough exterior of her cousin Shia Ta to gain respect. The play ran November 1989. Program was created by the Whittier College Theatre Department.
