Abstract

Program is for the play by Aristophanes with a new English translation by Linda Gates. The play follows Lysistrata's mission to end the Peloponnesian War by denying all the men of the land any sex. She persuades the women of the warring cities to withhold sexual privileges from their husbands and lovers to force them to negotiate peace. The play was directed by Jennifer S. Holmes and ran May 2005. Program was created by the Whittier College Theatre Department.
