Abstract
In this letter, Florence reassures Lorena about an upcoming surgery that Lorena will undergo. She and Miss Yoshida are currently staying at their summer home in Karuizawa where the Asama volcano has recently been active. Florence is suffering from anemia and is using the rest time to work on her writing. She finishes by saying how much she misses Lorena's company.
