Abstract
The research question explored in this paper is: What is philanthropy’s role in society and how can a non-profit organization be structured to successfully assist the community’s needs? This topic has been discussed through various fields that relate to assisting the needs within a community including, social work, business, child development, and anthropology. This research analyzes books and articles written by various experts throughout the different fields. The literature is then synthesized and applied to a comprehensive business plan for a nonprofit organization that is designed to assist youth and families within a specified community.
