Abstract
The focus of my study explores how Los Angeles was awarded the 2028 Summer Olympics. Based on historical evidence from secondary sources, The Los Angeles 1984 Olympics revived the Olympic Spirit” that was lost throughout the Cold War. Los Angeles can be seen in close comparison to the London 2012 games for being the first country to host three times, followed by Paris 2024. As I analyzed the total investments that are used toward rerouting the metroline, I will examine the process of transportation for the viewers, spectators, and the athletes themselves. In addition, it is useful to analyze the infrastructures that remain constructed in Los Angeles to help benefit the process he process in comparison to some cities whose infrastructure remain untouched post-games. The societal aspects I explore are the cultural and values required to be successful as a host, the history of the olympics, and the goals that are developing to make the city more sustainable. I conclude how Los Angeles can become the ideal model of the olympics; how their games and goal of sustainability can help the city post-games.
