Abstract
This senior project entails strengthening the understanding of several Marxist philosophies as examples of ideologies. All three theorists ask their followers bring there views into the open. They urge that intellectuals publish, that labors strengthen their unity and that the consciousness be raised among the population at large. However, the specific actions these theorists call for differ. Marx’s program is fairly extensive, centering around the abolition of private ownership of the means of production. Lukas puts this stage much further in the future and asks that only the control of the means of production be decentralized. Djilas asks that the right to political criticism be upheld and that a social democratic system be developed.
