Abstract
This project uses data analysis, literature, interviews, and school-site visits to explore how schools achieve a balance between the goals of English acquisition and preservation of children’s native language and culture. The project focuses on bilingual education programs for Spanish-speaking children. The larger goal of this project is to examine how all language minorities maintain their cultural heritage while learning English.
