Abstract

This project will cover whether the Campus Inn is developing appreciation and habits of daily living that can have life long benefits and that might be promoted through such a campus experience. The paper will discuss my job experience through the C.I. and how I came to see for my own eyes that the C.I. is doing everything it possibly can to provide to students nutritionally balanced meals and that nutritional welfare is heavily monitored by the C.I. employees. The content of my senior project will include the following subject matter: food-service systems and their development, organization and management, personal relationships within given departments, cost control of the meal ticket, sanitation and safety, floor plan and layout, the personal responses towards our food service by a group of randomly selected students at Whittier College, and my own conclusions. Developing an awareness of food quality and quantity is important for the maintenance of a healthy body and mind. The importance of the Campus Inn in our educational system has been heavily abused by the student body and hopefully, this study and its results will solve a great many of the problems which are misunderstood by both ends of the spectrum. The C.I. can provide the student body with more than just nourishment for the body. Our health and education does not have to stop in the classrooms and by no means should.
