Abstract
This project surrounds an in depth analysis of Thomas Bernhard’s prose and drama, more specifically the language he uses. This study examines his most popular drama, Die Jagdgesellschaft (The Hunting Community) where the influences of his theatrical language will be examined and compared to the languages utilized in his autobiographical pieces. This study also considers Bernhard’s political and social commentary as extensions of his childhood war experiences.
