Abstract

Program is for the play by Molière in a new English verse translation by Richard Wilbur. This play in verse follows a young couple in love, Henriette and Clitandre, who must gain the approval of the girl's mother. However, Henriette's mother wishes for her to marry another man who has many women in his thrall. The play was directed by Robert M. Treser and ran October 1980. Program was created by the Whittier College Theatre Department.
